There are many sleep disorders in this world and sleep paralysis is one of them. This occurs when a person is sleeping and any kind of normal movement cannot take place. It so happens that the brain wakes up from sleep but the body doesn’t. This means that the person is suffering from sleep-paralysis. If it is not detected earlier, this can become a sleeping disorder. Then it can be identified as isolated sleep paralysis. This can also happen when a person feels like a condition when you feel your soul is extracted out of your body. It is a like feeling of ecstasy. This is often described as another level of sleep-paralysis. Patients suffering from this should be tested for narcolepsy too. This is when even after the treatment the various symptoms persist.
There are many causes of sleep paralysis. It may happen a person has irregular sleeping habits. Someone may be taking naps in between the work. Or depriving one’s self of sleep for very long periods of time. Also a lot of increase in stress can lead to this sleeping disorder.
A sudden lifestyle change can also be a cause of this disorder. Sleeping in a supine position too may lad to this disorder. Personal hygiene too is of importance. Sleep paralysis treatments can differ. The first step towards this is to educate the patient about the various stages of sleep.
Then they should make it a point to sleep on time and avoid sleep deprivation for long periods of time. This step would lay the symptoms to rest. But if they still persists sleep disorder paralysis even after this, then one should get a test for narcolepsy done. Consulting a therapist or a well known doctor is very important.
Sleep-paralysis, paralysis is often confused and associated with the out of body feeling. But the focus mentally differs in both the states. In the state of sleep paralysis is person is trying hard to regain the control of their body movement whereas in the latter state they feel unknown pressure from an outside souse on their body.
